Transforming the Skoda Superb into a powerful sports car

The previous generation Skoda Superb, originally known only for its four-cylinder engines, has undergone a significant upgrade. Now under the hood of this green wagon lies a 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine from the Audi RS3. While the base power of this engine is around 400 hp, which is already 120 hp more than the standard Superb, the owner decided to boost it to 720 hp and 830 Nm of torque, turning the car into a true rocket on wheels.

On the German autobahns, the modified Skoda Superb showed astonishing performance: accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.32 seconds, from 100 to 200 km/h (62 to 124 mph) in 6.06 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h (0 to 124 mph) in just 9.38 seconds. The quarter mile (402 meters) was completed in 10.77 seconds, reaching a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph), although the speedometer was originally calibrated for 260 km/h (161 mph).

Interestingly, the original Skoda Superb, produced in 1934-1949, was offered with a 4.0-liter V8 engine and several inline six-cylinder units. Under the Volkswagen Group, the model began to be equipped with V6 gasoline and diesel engines. Its successor received a 3.6-liter VR6 engine.

The new Superb model, released this year, is equipped with a four-cylinder engine, whose maximum power in the top configuration reaches 265 hp. The absence of a high-performance RS version likely motivated the owner to upgrade his car with an engine from the Audi RS3.
